An incredible, authentic vintage late 1940s to early 1950s Hawaiian-style Pake Muu lounge dress / robe. Cut from a beautifully draped "cold rayon" crepe fabric in a striking, vibrant canary yellow.
This piece features a rare, highly collectible Asian-inspired architectural novelty border print depicting detailed multi-tiered pagodas, traditional sailing vessels, stylized waves, and flying blue birds. Designed with classic dramatic "winged" wide kimono sleeves featuring a stark black lining contrast, traditional frog closure Mandarin knots at the high collar, and deep side slits at the hem accented by a wide black border

incredible color retention. The fabric remains strong and fluid. No dry rot or structural damage. Notable flaws are minor and include a faint, light horizontal water spot/storage shadow on a yellow cloud section near the blue bird. Appears unbranded/custom mid-century tailored with clean internal seams.
