Alber Elbaz built this in cotton specifically to undercut what evening dresses were supposed to be made of, then paired that utilitarian fabric with a heavy exposed front zipper and cascading ruffles — hardware against softness, deliberately. The raw edges throughout are a design choice, and the faint fading is from actual wash and wear rather than age alone. Circa 2004, sized FR 44 / US 12.
